Grit Guards are an important part of your wash system, and serve a simple but necessary function. Grit Guards keep the dirt that rinses off of your wash mitt at the bottom of the bucket, preventing you from picking that dirt back up when cleaning your wash mitt. It accomplishes this by 1) stopping the water at the bottom of the bucket from swirling and lifting back up when you rinse your mitt, and 2) preventing your mitt from being able to hit the bottom of the bucket.
